I read about a case in the local paper yesterday about two children that where found dead in their mothers appartment. A 6 month old and a 16 month old. They died of starvation. Their older sister 2 years old was found crawling around the room foraging for food. The mother was drunk. Apparently CPS had be notified weeks, even months prior about this womans neglect of her children, and they still hadn't even checked into it. So who do they take to court on this? The mother will likely be institutionalized for her "addiction". She'll likely never be charged with murder, as she should be. The CPS people will get a slap on the wrist. I believe...a nd I know this is gonna stir up a hornets nest.... that the mother should be charged for killing her children, because she did, premeditated or not she allowed her children to starve to death. (They starved...do you know how long it takes to starve? Do you know how painful it is?) and I think that CPS should be charged with Accessory to murder. Because DAMN IT they should have done their jobs and stoped this from happening!!! The same place has other cases this year where the children have died do to neglect on the cases. why do we even have CPS? Its so frustrating.

So the significant other and I had an arguement about death. He gets so annoyed when people say "passed away". That it coushins death. He said especial when talking to children (which is what brought this up) He says they died, not passed away... but my trouble with this is, going up to a loved one and saying passed away is so much kinder than saying: Yup they died. He is alway so much on teaching the children to be polite and not rude, but I just really think in this case, He's teaching the children to be rude. Mostly because he won't even entertain the idea of teaching them the other phrase. I just get a No. "As long as you teach them what it means its not coushining it." NO ABSOLUTELY NOT. ugh. men.
